Ten years ago, Katherine Picazo participated in the NAHJ Student Project in Orlando, Florida.

“I was a little reportera, interviewing people and really getting to know all of the industry and seeing what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go.” said Picazo.

Now, exactly a decade later, she reflects on her journey, and the profound impact NAHJ and the Student Project made in her career. Currently, she is the Duopoly Planning Editor at NBCLA and Telemundo 52.

During NAHJ’s 2025 conference, Katherine Picazo graduated from “Adelante Academy.”
