Gente de NAHJ: Ally Ibarra-Soltero brings whimsy to the workplace
Early-career journalists know to dress to impress, and Ally Ibarra-Soltero’s handmade bags help her do just that.
Ibarra-Soltero crochets a broadcast TV-inspired bag for each National Association of Hispanic Journalists conference that she attends. Last year’s bag looked like a cassette tape. This year’s is based on the first camera she ever used.
Ibarra-Soltero said that in an industry of business casual attire (read: boring), her quirky style helps her to stand out and catch recruiters’ attention.
