Gente de NAHJ: A hesitant victor claims prize offered by cruise line

Attendees frantically flipped chairs over in hopes of discovering a key detail that would win them a grand prize: a red and blue dot.
Inside of a ballroom in downtown Chicago, one person claimed a coveted seven-day cruise from a port of their choosing.
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists hosted a sold out panel called, “How Latinos influence tourism and can shape travel writing,” at the Hilton Chicago. Carnival Cruise hosted a giveaway as part of the Wednesday panel.
A few seconds later, someone shouted, “We got a winner.”
Isabel Morales, a broadcast news reporter based in the nation’s capital, walked up to the podium to claim the prize.
“I don’t know if I can accept this,” she said.
Morales expressed her concern over a conflict of interest because she had reported on the international cruise line in the past.
Morales posed for photos and told the crowd she’d love to go to Puerto Rico. Then she left to call her producer.
