Gente de NAHJ: The brothers behind the booth

Instead of being poolside with friends or glued to a television playing the latest video game, the Diaz brothers held down the fort at a national conference for Latino journalists.
David and Benjamin Diaz are the sons of Yaneth Guillen-Diaz, the executive director of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
As the conference ensued, they worked to inform attendees about a new health-focused initiative called, NAHJ Cares. They handed out conchas in exchange for the completion of surveys, donations and other engagement activities.
During an award luncheon, their mother was honored by the mayor of Chicago with a proclamation declaring a city-wide day in her honor.
The Diaz brothers express their pride and admiration for the woman who raised them into becoming the hard workers they are today.
